Join us for a slow ride celebrating queer pride on Saturday, June 29th!

Start Location: Embarcadero Plaza across from the Ferry Building
Meetup: 1 PM
Rollout: 1:30 PM
Ride duration: 1.5 - 2 hours, with breaks in between
Route:https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47172578

We begin the ride with a progression down historic Market Street. From there we'll ride up Polk, past City Hall. Working our way up through Nob Hill, featuring our steepest climb of the day up California (Watch out for cable car tracks), we'll find our way to Washington Square where we will take a break stop. Then we will take a loop around the park before hitting Stockton Street and rolling through Chinatown and by Union Sq. After that, we'll cross into SOMA taking 5th and Howard to Victoria Manalo Park where we will take our second break. We will then take Howard then Folsom heading south into the Mission before taking 17th west to Sanchez. We will finally take Market for a couple blocks to Castro before taking 18th to Dolores Park where we will end the ride.

This ride is easily accessible by all forms of transit. The nearest BART station is at Embarcadero. Several MUNI bus lines run along Market Street and stop nearby. The 4th and King Caltrain station is also a quick bike ride away. And of course, you're welcome to arrive and join us by ferry, the best way to cross the bay.

If you have any questions feel free to email or DM us!

Reminders

Bring:

  • Water
  • Snacks
  • A warm layer if it gets cold
  • Sun protection
  • Rain gear if it might rain
  • Queer pride!

Considering The Weather

We'll ride this event rain or shine. If the forecast is calling for severe weather that we think may lead to unsafe conditions then we'll cancel. We'll try our best to cancel 72 hours in advance based on the forecast but of course we may cancel with shorter notice in the event of unsafe conditions. In the event of rain, please remember:

  • Go slower and remember it will take a further distance to come to a complete stop. You do not have the same braking traction in the rain.
  • Give other riders and road users extra space.
  • Bring rain gear! Riding in the rain can be a lot of fun. Installing fenders on your bike can help as can wearing waterproof footwear, rain pants, rain jacket or rain cape, and even weatherproof gloves and socks!
